Its been forever since i have posted, but everytime I sit down to do it, Mia turns off the computer or something else goes wrong so that I can't finish it. But those are just lame excuses. So here goes:
Well, lets start with Mia! She has grown so much in the last few months. She is walking everywhere and talks to me and herself all day long. She has 4 teeth, and i think a few more on the way, and is such a spoiled brat. Also, I trimmed the back of her hair about a month ago and already it fits back into a ponytail. She just grows too fast. Oh, and the most recent achievement is that she discovered how to give "kisses" to Mommy last night! It was so sweet! even if they are open mouth. :)
Now for Adam. He has recently started working for some friends of ours helping renovate their house. He's doing everything from installing doors to putting in tile all over the house. He's getting really strong!! He has about 1 week left of school, and he's off for the break. He's I more semester closer to graduating! YAY!
And ME, Liz: I recently started a job for Respit. I watch a 11-year old girl named Tressa before and after school. I've only done about 1 1/2 weeks so i'm still learning the ropes, but it seems to be going pretty good. Tressa has downsyndrome, but is a sweetheart, and loves Mia. Also, I've discovered I like to make bread. I've made it everyweek (until i started my job) and the two loaves I make are gone within about 5 days. sounds like at least one of us like it. Now i just need to learn how to

PROP 8 IN CALIFORNIA
Hey everyone, I just got this email from my sister up at BYU. I Just wanted to share this with you all!!
Hey Guys! Here is a little information on Proposition 8 in California and below are links you can go to to find out more! Please read it, tell all your friends, and DONT FORGET TO REGISTER TO VOTE!
The Issue:
California voters passed Proposition 22 in 2000 by more than 61%, saying that a marriage in California is between a man and a woman. Earlier this year, four activist judges based in San Francisco wrongly overturned the people's vote, legalizing same-sex marriage.
The Consequences:
The Supreme Court's decision to legalize same-sex marriage did not just overturn the will of California voters; it also redefined marriage for the rest of society, without ever asking the people themselves to accept this decision. This decision has far-reaching consequences. For example, because public schools are already required to teach the role of marriage in society as part of the curriculum, schools will now be required to teach students that gay marriage is the same as traditional marriage, starting with kindergarteners. By saying that a marriage is between "any two persons" rather than between a man and a woman, the Court decision has opened the door to any kind of "marriage." This undermines the value of marriage altogether at a time when we should be restoring marriage, not undermining it.
The Solution:
Vote YES on Proposition 8 to overturn the outrageous Supreme Court decision and restore the definition of marriage that was approved by over 61% of voters. Proposition 8 is NOT an attack on gay couples and does not take away the rights that same-sex couples already have under California's domestic partner law. California law already grants domestic partners all the rights that a state can grant to a married couple. Gays have a right to their private lives, but not to change the definition of marriage for everyone else.
Voting YES on Proposition 8 does 3 simple things:
It restores the definition of marriage to what the vast majority of California voters already approved and what Californians agree should be supported, not undermined. It overturns the outrageous decision of four activist Supreme Court judges who ignored the will of the people. It protects our children from being taught in public schools that "same-sex marriage" is the same as traditional marriage, and prevents other consequences to Californians who will be forced to not just be tolerant of gay lifestyles, but face mandatory compliance regardless of their personal beliefs.
Passing Proposition 8 protects our children and places into the Constitution the simple definition that a marriage is between a man and a woman.

Computers!!!
Well, guess what! My computer has a virus and has completely shut down. So I don't really have any access to my blog much until we get it fixed. Does anyone know someone who could restore it for cheap? We looked at best buy and it's $200! That's not exactly in our budget right now, so if you know any one, it would be a great help! I can't wait until I have computer access again! Sometimes they are such a PAIN!!

Well, guess what! we adopted a cat! Her name is Clohie, but we are still deciding what we should name her. If you look to the right, these are then names we are deciding between.: Clohie, spooky, Scout, and Blacky. She is Black with white socks and a white stomach, with a little goatee. She is beautiful and is always out exploring her new home. We love her already, and Mia is getting used to sharing her parents attention with her.
Also, on Sunday, Mia started crawling. Se still not very good at it, but she is working on it, and loves to play on the floor with her toys. She never stops moving. :)
We hope everyone has a great first day at school! good luck!

An Exciting Summer
Wow! So much has gone on since I last updated my blog, good and bad, but let's start with the bad. Adam at the end of May lost his job, because of the economy, and was out of work for about 2 months. He just got a new job a few weeks ago, and has loved being back to work. ( good thing we had a savings!) Also, Trick or Treat, AKA Tricky, my parents cat died in June. She was about 16 years old, and had some thyroid problems, so I feel ok that she is not in pain anymore.
Now for th exciting news:!!! Mia can sit up, scoot forward and backwards on the floor all by herself, and just recently gets on her knees and rocks back and forth. I just know that she will be crawling any day now! She's going to be into everything soon. :) I think every mom gets excited for these new accomplishments of their children, but is also a little worried about what they will get into. I need to start baby proofing my house.
Also, this summer, Mia and I have taken swim lessons. It's been so much fun! she's learned to just lay on her back in the water, blow bubbles (or face plant), kick, jump into the pool, and even go under water. Most of the time she never even coughed coming out, which means that she didn't swallow any water. We did the lessons with a friend of ours Debra-Jo and her son Tyson, who just turned a year old. We can't wait to do it again next year, and maybe she'll remember all her great skills.
Now for on of the best news of all! Adam and I have been talking about adopting a cat, and last night he calls me up saying I should start looking. We found one that would be great for our family, and we are going to visit her tonight! Her name is Clohie. She is great at acrobatics and very adventurous, but can love to watch you or just sit and cuddle. She is a black cat with blue eyes and which socks, aka: paws. Hopefully we will get to take her home. I'll have to let you know when we find out. And post pictures soon.

Ronald McDonald
Adam recently has been growing out his hair and yesterday he finally decided that he would cut it. He figured it looked too scraggly and need to look more professional for his job interviews he will be having soon. His family and I at dinner last night decided that his hair reminded us all of Ronald McDonald and his red afro hair. lol. I thought that everyone would get a kick out of his hair. :)

Parenting
Last Thursday, I went to a institute class with my mom, and we were studying King David in the Old Testament. We discussed David and his relationship with his sons. all throughout the class I was thinking about how my relationship with Mia will be and how if she dies, what would I do. She has become one of the most important people in my life. And I never could have imagined how much I could love her before she came to my family. She is such a joy and is learning new things every day. I want to be there for her, to teach her to love the gospel and have good manners, and so many other things. King David, I think loved his sons but didn't teach them and help them discover what they do wrong to help them better themselves. I hope I can do this for Mia.

Recently I've been thinking about how Jenna and John, my two youngest siblings, keep themselves occupied. Many of the times when I go to visit my Mom, Jenna and/or John are on the computer playing with their webkins. I just think about how I played with my other sister Rachel. Our Favorite thing to do was play with our Barbies. We set up the town and made new clothes for them, but my favorite thing to do with them was to build a house. One time, after I really had outgrown playing with them, but RAchel conned me into playing with her, I made a house out of cardboard and shoeboxes. hehehe :) It was like 5'X 5' at least. I still chuckle at the memories we had together. There were no other kids our age in the neighbor hood of 7 or 8 houses back in New Jersey. We became the best of friends. I miss her, but she will be home from BYU in about a week!! YAY!! This picture is of where our house was, but the area looks much different than when we moved to AZ about 10 years ago.

Smiles
Well, Recently Mia has started to Smile more and respond to my voice! Isn't that exciting!!! I find it the best. :) She is the cutest little one, and I have to say that the dress she is wearing today is so cute. And the best part is.... she matches her room. I did her room in Yellow, red gingham, and ladybugs, just like her dress. I'm silly i know, but She is so darling I can't get over it. Another great thing is that she is wearing my mom's old shoes she wore when she was little. they are darling!! She is both of her grandmother's pride and joy. We love visiting with our family.

ENGAGEMENTS
Well, today my sister texted me that her boyfriend had come up to BYU, where she is at college to visit her. And the exciting news is that he popped the question today!! :) I'm going to have a brother-in-law! isn't that great! Rachel is stoked and said that the engagement date is set for July 4th, but my only question is whether the temple is open for weddings on a holiday like that. Oh, and here is a picture of the ring.
My family is so excited to the next newest addition into our family. but i'm sure my Mom is freaking out since it's only a few weeks away, but wait todays date is April First!!!!!! ........ APRIL FOOLS!!! lol, sorry, Rachel really did text me about this, but she couln't keep it going for too long since i'm such a sucker for these kinds of things. I called Adam just after talking to my sister, and he fell for it too, but he wasn't so happy about it. He's not too excited for the guy my sister has fallen for and after I told him that it was April Fools, he was well, relieved is the best word for it. I just was astounded that Rachel was going to get engaged even earlier than i did. Well, I hope everyone is having a great April Fools Day. Mia and I are. :P
Other than that, we are doing great. We went to the vistor Center at the Mesa Temple for FHE yesterday, and was amazed at the photos they have displayed there. They are a collection called Reflections of Christ. everyone should look at his amazing pictures. They are all live and the people are all part of the cast for the Easter Pagent here in Mesa.

Today, something really exciting happened!! Mia has her first pigtails! she is so beautiful and is growing up so fast. (even if she is only 2 1/2 months)
Well, as for Adam and I. Adam just started 2 more classes last week and will be hopefully done with his prereqs. with the classes he is taking this semester.
